Elements of a Satisfying Meal at Hainanese Delights in Cebu

There’s a good restaurant that has been silently lurking for years now in one of the food court corners of Robinsons Cybergate, Cebu. I’m talking about Hainanese Delights, a Singaporean restaurant. The Hainanese white chicken is the speciality of this restaurant, but they have a lot of Asian dishes to offer as well.

I had eaten a lot of times here before but it is just now that I get to blog about it. I was able to come back last night, after realising that they don’t just offer chicken — which means that I can still bring my companion (who happens to be allergic to chicken) in this establishment for dinner.

I believe the meals here are quite affordable compared to other restaurants of similar kind. So what did we have? Well, perhaps this picture can help.

• Who wouldn’t love unlimited rice for their Rice Meal? And it’s not just plain rice or garlic rice, it’s Hainan Rice!
• At a price of Php 130, I’m actually not sure if I am paying for The Singaporean Staple with Hainanese Chicken… or Hainanese Chicken with The Singaporean Staple. Hehe. I don’t care.
• I forgot to ask if their Just! Delights products are tea-based or soya-milk-based. I got confused with the menu poster, but I ordered Just Nutty anyway… because it’s just nutty. 😀
• I read somewhere that the restaurant’s Hainan rice and the Hainanese white chicken really tasted like those served in Singapore. Hmmm… I haven’t actually been around Singapore though. Maybe soon.

Oooh, and I forgot one important element of a satisfying meal in this restaurant…
